Release Process at Extrinsic Music Group
At Extrinsic Music Group, artists are assigned a Manager who handles all aspects of their music release. This ensures a seamless process where artists can focus on creating music while their Manager takes care of distribution.
Release Workflow
Below is a diagram illustrating the release workflow:

How Releases Are Managed
When an artist is ready to release music, their Manager handles the following steps:
-
Metadata Entry: The Manager collects details such as:
- Release Title
- Artist(s) Name
- Release Date
- Cover Artwork (meeting DSP guidelines)
- UPC Code (if applicable)
-
Track Upload & Processing:
- The Manager uploads audio files in the required format.
- Metadata is assigned per track, including ISRC codes.
- Tracks are arranged in the correct order (for albums/EPs).
-
Quality Control Review:
- The release is checked for metadata accuracy and file quality.
- Any issues are resolved before submission.
-
Distribution to Streaming Platforms:

Status Updates by Manager
Artists do not need to track release statuses themselves. Instead, the assigned Manager keeps them informed at every stage:
- Draft: Initial setup of metadata and tracks.
- Processing: Internal Quality Control review.
- Scheduled: Approved and set for release on the chosen date.
- Live: The release is available on streaming platforms.
Benefits of This Model
- Hands-free process for artists – Managers handle all technical details.
- Ensures accuracy and quality – Prevents metadata errors and formatting issues.
- Streamlined distribution – Releases are efficiently processed and delivered.
