Content and Metadata Policies

Content and Metadata Policies

To ensure compliance with streaming platforms, the distribution of certain types of content is subject to strict guidelines. Non-compliance may result in blocked content delivery, removal from platforms, or account termination.

Prohibited Content and Metadata

The following categories of content and metadata are restricted:

  • Infringing content: All audio, artwork, metadata assets, and associated metadata must have appropriate rights for all territories and platforms and must not infringe on the copyrights of third parties.
  • Artificial streaming: Content with streams generated by bots or other automated processes is prohibited. Services promising increased streams, followers, or playlist placements must not be used.
  • Misleading content: Content intended to mislead users, including mimicking popular content or providing inaccurate search terms or information, is not allowed.
  • Sound-alikes, cover versions, or tribute songs that closely resemble the original works are restricted.
  • Similar names or imagery: Titles, artist names, or cover art that closely resemble those of popular artists are prohibited.
  • Cultural and legal compliance: Content must be legal and culturally appropriate for the intended distribution regions.
  • Nazi propaganda: Content depicting Nazi symbolism is strictly prohibited in countries where such content is restricted by law.
  • Non-exclusive licenses: Non-exclusive licenses or leases for featured artists or vocal performances are not permitted.
  • Repetitive or snippet tracks: Snippets, repeated tracks, and excessively short material are restricted.
  • Generic artist names: Names such as White Noise, Yoga, Music for Dogs, Lo-Fi, Sped Up, Workout, Meditation, Baby, Christmas, Top Hits, Chorus, Orchestra, Singer, Rock, Pop Music, and similar generic terms are not accepted.
  • Subliminal content: Any content intended to influence listeners subconsciously is prohibited.
  • Karaoke tracks and ringtones: Karaoke tracks with lead vocals, vocal versions, or ringtones delivered as music tracks are restricted.
  • DJ mix albums: Albums delivered as a single audio file are prohibited.
  • Advertisement tracks: Tracks primarily intended as advertisements are not allowed.
  • Live recordings and rare materials: Live albums, alternate takes, rare recordings, early recordings, radio broadcasts, interviews, and other materials commonly classified as “bootlegs” are restricted.

These guidelines are designed to maintain high standards of content quality and compliance, ensuring that all distributed material respects copyright law, cultural norms, and platform-specific regulations.
